Group of 3 - Santo Domingo (Kewa) Heishi Necklaces c. 1960s.

The word “heishi” means “shell,” although today it is often used to describe the cut style of beads which are small, flat, disc-shapes. It is not uncommon to hear the phrase “turquoise heishi,” for example.

Condition

Very good condition: This set of heishi necklaces piece has minor cosmetic imperfections, such as minor scratches, cracks or chips in the materials, but do not detract from its overall appearance. The materials are in very good condition and show only minor signs of wear consistent with age or prior use.
